Jay Is Games launches Casual Gameplay Design Compettion #10; $1k top prize

Feel like great escape games have been in short supply recently? Or maybe you’re a developer looking for some extra exposure on one of the biggest casual gaming websites.

Jay Is Games has you covered either way with the launch of CGDC#10. The theme this time around is ‘Escape’, and the top prize is $1,000. Additionally, entrants will all receive personal coaching from none other than Mateus Skutnik of Submachine fame.

Leading Casual Games Site Continues Advocacy for Booming Indie Game Development
ROCHESTER, NY, July 9, 2012 – Leading casual games web site, Jay Is Games, today announced
its “Casual Gameplay Design Competition #10” (CGDC #10) along with its partners, Armor Games
and Pastel Games, with Armor Games providing important sponsorship support once again.
Since 2006, the popular computer game design competition has been a venue in which the
fast-growing world of independent game designers can display their talent. In addition,
the CGDC has jump-started development careers and produced games that have captured
the attention of over eleven million combined visitors, including such casual gaming classics
CGDC #10 continues the emphasis on browser-based technologies, such as Flash, Unity, and
Javascript, and challenges designers to create small-scale games around the theme “escape.”
Mateusz Skutnik and Pastel Games, producers of popular browser point-and-click adventures:
Submachine, Daymare Town and Covert Front, is onboard to provide feedback and coaching for
the participants this time around, offering veteran game design advise to budding game developers.
Beginning today and running through September 3, 2012, CGDC #10 submitted entries must be
originally created and unreleased games, and must be fully playable in a web browser.
